The BNL Physics Department has an opening for two postdoctoral research 
associates in the Nuclear Theory Group. In this role, the successful 
candidate will conduct research in quantum information science for high 
energy nuclear physics and related areas. The successful candidate will 
also be a member of the inter-disciplinary, multi-institutional 
Co-Design Center for Quantum Advantage (C2QA) at BNL, one of five DOE 
National Quantum Information Science Research Centers, 
https://www.bnl.gov/quantumcenter/. The successful candidate will work 
under the direction of Peter Petreczky, Group Leader of the Nuclear 
Theory Group. This position has a high level of interaction with an 
international and multicultural scientific community. Essential Duties 
and Responsibilities: Perform research on QIS problems in high energy 
nuclear and particle physics. Organize and participate in seminars, 
meetings, and workshops. Publish research results and conduct 
presentations at meetings and conferences

Position Requirements Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: PhD 
degree in Theoretical Nuclear or Elementary Particle Physics Prior 
research experience in quantum information science Proficient in and 
knowledge of perturbative and non-perturbative methods in quantum field 
theory Strong computational skills Ability to prepare and deliver oral 
presentations, as well as write articles in scientific journals Clear 
and concise verbal/written/presentation communication skills Preferred 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of quantum information 
science for high energy physics Other Information: BNL policy requires 
that after obtaining a PhD, eligible candidates for research associate 
appointments may not exceed a combined total of 5 years of relevant work 
experience as a post-doc and/or in an R&D position, excluding time 
associated with family planning, military service, illness or other 
life-changing events. Initial two (2) year term appointment subject to 
one (1) year renewal contingent on funding and performance. May require 
domestic and international travel. In addition, to submitting your
