Dear colleagues,  

I am including below a message from the IUPAP C3 Commission Chair, Rahul
Pandit, stating that the deadline to submit applications for the
Boltzmann Medal has been extended through the end of 2018. If you
haven't submitted any nominations yet, please consider postulating
candidates from under-represented groups. Instructions on how to proceed
are attached. I also remind you that nominations for the Young Scientist
in Statistical Physics Awards are also due by the end of 2018.

Dear colleagues

I would like to draw your attention to the Boltzmann Medal, which is
presented by the C3 Commission on Statistical Physics of the
International Union for Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) every three
years, at the Statphys Conference. The next Boltzmann Award(s) will be
given during Statphys 27, to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from
8-12 July 2019 ( http://statphys27.df.uba.ar/); one or two Boltzmann
Medals are awarded in a Statphys Conference. The Award, consisting of a
gilded medal, honours outstanding achievements in Statistical Physics. 

I enclose as an attachment a pdf file with the formal call for
nominations for the Boltzmann Award. The C3 Commission of the IUPAP has
decided to extend the deadline for the submission of nominations to
23:59 hours (UTC time) 1 January 2019. 

I would be very grateful if you could inform other members of the
statistical physics community of this nomination process, because we
want to be certain to consider the best possible nominees.
