The Nuclear and Astro Particle physics group of the Institute
of Space Sciences (ICE-CSIC), Barcelona (Spain) offers <b>a
postdoctoral position</b> to work on the project `Effective
theories of strong nuclear interactions under extreme
conditions´´.<br>
<br>
<br>
Candidates should hold a PhD in physics at the starting date
of the contract.<br>
They are expected to have expertise in thermal field theory,
chiral transport phenomena, and/or dense nuclear matter.<br>
<br>
<br>
Active senior member of the project are: Cristina Manuel,
Laura Tolos and Joan Soto (University of Barcelona)<br>
<br>
The position is offered for two years, with a gross annual
salary of in the range of 28.500 to 32.000 €,<br>
depending on the candidate experience. This includes social
security and public healthcare benefits, covering spouse and
children.<br>

The starting date during 2024 is flexible, but is expected not
to be beyond October 1st, 2024.<br>

About the Institute of Space Sciences (ICE-CSIC):<br>
The Institute of Space Sciences (ICE-CSIC) has been
distinguished with the María de Maeztu Excellence Seal, as one
of the top research centers in the country. It currently has
27 faculty members (3 others will joining soon). Their areas
of research vary from engineering applied to several space
missions to fundamental physics and cosmology, from
high-energy astronomy to theoretical astrophysics.<br>
ICE-CSIC is part of the "Consejo Superior de Investigaciones
Científicas" (CSIC, the Spanish National Research Council).
CSIC is the largest public institution dedicated to research
in Spain and the third largest in Europe.<br>

ICE-CSIC is located in a modern building on the Campus of the
Universidad Autònoma de Barcelona in Bellaterra, just outside
Barcelona. The Campus is well served by public transportation
(railways and buses), and a variety of accommodation options
can be found both in Barcelona city center and in the smaller
towns close to the University Campus (Cerdanyola, Sabadell,
Terrassa, Sant Cugat, Sant Quirze, Rubí, and others).<br>
