<div>Por más de 2000 años la materia granular ha llamado la atención de diversas personalidades tales como Lucrecio (99 a. C.-c. 55 a. C.), da Vinci (1452-1519) y Coulomb (1736-1806), por mencionar sólo algunos. A pesar de ello, lo cierto es que aún hoy en día se carece de una teoría formal que describa su dinámica. La mayoría de las leyes que se utilizan para realizar predicciones y cálculos estructurales son empíricas. En el presente seminario se analizarán algunas de estas características y se intentará hacer una puesta en valor de la importancia de su entendimiento.</div>
