<div>El Centro de Medicina Comparada se crea en agosto de 1997 para abordar de manera integral el estudio mediante el uso de animales de laboratorio. Desde su creación ha ido creciendo gracias al aporte de Investigadores, docentes, alumnos y no docentes de la Facultad de Ciencias Veterinarias de la UNL y del CONICET. Esto sumado a la confianza de más de 40 empresas líderes de la industria farmacéutica y más de 50 grupos de I+D de diferentes instituciones que han confiado sus ensayos al CMC. Como consolidación de su crecimiento, a partir del año 2012 pasó a formar parte del ICIVET-LITORAL (Instituto de doble dependencia UNL-CONICET).</div>

<div>Actualmente sus instalaciones cuentan con áreas de ensayo, producción, analítica, depósitos, gestión de calidad, investigación y desarrollo, oficinas administrativas e instalaciones de soporte. Entre su principal equipamiento se pueden mencionar estanterías microventiladas de última generación con condiciones de alta seguridad, estaciones de recambio de alta seguridad, estaciones para limpieza de jaulas, etc.</div>

<div>Esto se suma a equipamiento analítico de última generación como autoanalizadores bioquímicos y hematológicos, espectrómetro de masas con triple cuadrupolo y un laboratorio totalmente equipado para técnicas in vitro y de biología molecular.</div>

<div><strong>Por último es importante resaltar que el CMC ha recibido apoyo de diferentes fuentes de financiamiento para el logro y mantenimiento de estas certificaciones que implican un gran esfuerzo humano y económico. Entre ellas se destacan el "Curso de Acción para la Transferencia Tecnológica" de la Secretaría de Vinculación Tecnológica de la Universidad Nacional del Litoral, el "Fondo de Financiamiento para Actividades de Promoción, Fomento y Gestión Tecnológica" del CONICET, el financiamiento a través del Sistema Nacional de Bioterios del Ministerio de Ciencia y Técnica de la Nación y el "Fondo Tecnológico Argentino" de la Agencia de Promoción Científica y Tecnológica (MINCYT), a través de la convocatoria FINSET 2015.</strong></div>
