<p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt; text-align: justify;"><u><strong><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Verdana; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><strong>Resumen</strong>:</span></strong></u><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> El éxito del modelo cosmológico estándar en la interpretación de las observaciones requiere suponer la existencia de un componente misterioso conocido como "materia oscura". Del estudio de la naturaleza de dicho componente han surgido al menos dos paradigmas alternativos. Según uno de estos, la materia oscura podría describirse en términos de una distribución de partículas (aún no descubiertas) "frías" (en el sentido que la distribución está caracterizada por una dispersión de velocidades pequeña): modelo conocido como "materia oscura fría". En un paradigma alternativo, esta podría consistir en bosones muy livianos para los cuales una descripción basada en la teoría de campos clásica es más apropiada. Es claro que para investigar en qué medida es posible discriminar entre los modelos candidatos, es necesario identificar las propiedades observables relevantes y caracterizar las predicciones correspondientes.</span></p>

La presencia de un campo de materia oscura puede dar lugar a efectos observables sobre la dinámica de materia ordinaria, ya sea porque su tensor de energía-impuso modifique la métrica del espacio-tiempo, o porque esté acoplada directamente a partículas del modelo estándar. En particular discutiré trabajos recientes que apuntan a aprovechar la precisión exquisita de las mediciones de los parámetros orbitales de sistemas de púlsares binarios para poner cotas sobre estos efectos.</span></p>
