Dear Colleagues,

University College Dublin (Ireland) invites expressions of interest for
a postdoctoral position in Gravitational Physics, with a focus on
gravity in AdS and the AdS/CFT correspondence.
The successful candidate will work with Dr Christiana Pantelidou and be
funded through a Royal Society - Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) grant.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in black
holes in AdS, the AdS/CFT correspondence, and with proven competence in
numerical computations. Candidates will have ample opportunities to
collaborate with the broader Relativity Group at UCD, and will also be
encouraged to pursue their own research topics.
The appointment will be for two years, starting in Autumn 2024. The
salary will be at the level of an SFI New Post-Doctoral Researcher Level
2A - Point 1 (~€43k gross salary per annum) and comes with additional
research and travel funds.
The Relativity Group at UCD consists of 4 faculty members (Prof. Adrian
Ottewill, Dr Barry Wardell, Dr Niels Warburton, Dr Sarp Akcay), 2 senior
research fellows (Dr Christiana Pantelidou, Dr Chris Kavanagh), two
postdoctoral fellows (Dr Gabriel Andres Piovano, Dr Brad Cownden) and 6
PhD students. Together they form a vibrant and friendly research group
whose expertise include gravitational self-force calculations, numerical
relativity, quantum fields on curved backgrounds and effective-one-body
theory.
We strive to build a diverse and inclusive environment and welcome
expressions of interest from traditionally underrepresented groups.
Applications should include a CV with a list of publications and a list
of three reference letter writers, and a two-page statement covering
research interests and plans. These should be sent by June 27th,
2024. using this web form:

Please feel free to share this with colleagues and potential candidates.
