Dear colleagues,
I am glad to announce the opening of the 2024 Call for Short Scientific
Visits within
IRN:QFS, the International Research Network on Quantum Fields and
Strings. The aim is to
support short visits (up to 1 week) to the following nodes, who have
agreed to earmark
some limited fund for this purpose [Some nodes may still be added on
request]:

Spain: Institute of Cosmos, Barcelona
UK: Birmingham; City-University of London; Durham
Germany: AEI, Golm; Leibniz University, Hannover; Math-physics group,
Heidelberg
University; QFT group, Humboldt University, Berlin; Math-physics group,
DESY/Hamburg

The call is open to junior researchers (advanced PhD students and
postdocs) of any of the
institutions participating in IRN:QFS, who have not benefited from a
visit to the same
host institution in previous calls (with a limit of two applications in
the same call).
Each host institution remains fully responsible for approving or
declining applications
and for disbursing funds.
This call covers visits planned to take place between Feb 12 and Dec
20, 2024. If you
would like to apply, please fill in the form before January 19, 2024.
After this date, applications will be forwarded to the contact scientist
for the
corresponding node, who will consult with the host scientist and other
colleagues, and
decide whether to grant or reject the request. Approved visits will be
notified by the
host by Feb 9, 2024.
We hope that this scheme will foster fruitful scientific exchanges with
the IRN:QFS
network.
Meanwhile, I wish you a happy holiday and successful new year 2024 !
@Contact persons: I would be grateful if you could share this
information with your
junior colleagues.
Boris Pioline,
IRN:QFS Network Coordinator
