Dear All
The Higgs Centre for Theoretical Physics would like to wish you a happy
new year and provide you with a short update.
*Fellowship Announcement*
After a very successful round of new appointments in 2021
<https://higgs.ph.ed.ac.uk/people/recent-appointments-21>, the
University of Edinburgh is continuing this direction and is currently
advertising for a newly established prestigious 4-year fellowship in
Physics and Astronomy. The Elizabeth Gardner Fellowship is aimed at
candidates from backgrounds which are under-represented in the School’s
academic community (e.g. gender, minority ethnicity, disability,
disadvantaged circumstances, etc.). More information about Elizabeth
Gardner can be found in a news release
<https://www.ph.ed.ac.uk/news/2022/elizabeth-gardner-four-year-fellowship-22-01-21>.
The deadline for applications
<https://elxw.fa.em3.oraclecloud.com/hcmUI/CandidateExperience/en/sites/CX_1001/job/3055/?utm_medium=jobshare>
is currently Monday, 14 February at 5pm GMT. Please feel free to share
this information with people you think might be interested.
*Higgs Centre Decennial*
Starting during the summer of 2022, the Higgs Centre will celebrate its
10-year anniversary
<https://higgs.ph.ed.ac.uk/events/higgs-centre-decennial/> with
in-person, online and offline activities, events and projects. A
programme of alumni talks and an alumni event on 25 June
<https://higgs.ph.ed.ac.uk/event/higgs-centre-alumni-meeting/> will lead
into this year of celebrations. We welcome ideas from our community.
*Higgs Centre Programme*
As usual, the Higgs Centre is also providing an extensive programme of
Colloquia <https://higgs.ph.ed.ac.uk/colloquia/>, Workshops
<https://higgs.ph.ed.ac.uk/workshops/> and its yearly Higgs Centre
Summer School
<https://higgs.ph.ed.ac.uk/workshops/higgs-centre-school-2022/>. Some
