Why not attend the virtual *Updates in Bioabsorbable Metals 2020* next 24
and 25 Aug 2020?
It is an opportunity to learn about bioabsorbable metals and maybe enter
this new multidisciplinary field.

*Already working in the field*? Submit an abstract up to June 28, 2020!

Biodegradable metals are rapidly become one of the most breaking
paradigm topic in Biomaterials, allowing clinicians to repair or restore
physiological functions temporarily by using Mg, Zn or Fe-based alloys to
fabricate implants with programmed degradation. Degradable metals are
expected to offer mechanical support and doing the job for periods from
weeks to months, and then stepping away. The first products are on the
market in Europe and Asia, and soon will be in the Americas.

On behalf of the conference organizing committee, we would like to thank
you for your interest to the 12th BioMetal Symposium, previously scheduled
August 23-28, 2020 in Alicante, Spain. Due to the global pandemic, an
in-person physical conference is no longer possible. In order to continue
providing services and networking opportunities to the Biodegradable
metals community, the an *Updates in Bioabsorbable Metals 2020* will be
offered as an online *virtual *conference.

We will maintain the workshop spirit similar to previous years. The
conferencing will be delivered over a professional platform and will be
managed by a highly competent and experienced technical team. Instructions
to presenters regarding the presenting options including pre-recorded
presentations will be available on the website very soon. The conference
delivery platform will be rich with features such as text-based chat, live
question periods via a Q&A option and polls.

Registered attendees will be able to attend all technical sessions along
with discussion groups and virtual health breaks. With presenters
permission, the presentations will also be available for post conference
streaming so that all registered attendees will be able to revisit the
sessions and catch up with the talks they missed.
