Postdoctoral position in gravitational wave physics at UIB, Spain

Research at the gravity group at the Balearic Islands University (UIB)
spans a wide range of topics from gravitational wave data analysis and
numerical relativity to mathematical relativity.

For this call we are seeking applications for a postdoctoral position to
work with PIs Alicia Sintes and Sascha Husa in the areas of
gravitational wave physics, including data analysis, modelling of
gravitational-wave sources,
numerical relativity, and related topics in astrophysics, cosmology and
fundamental physics. The successful candidate will also be expected to
strengthen our involvement in the LIGO Scientific Collaboration. Our
LIGO group also
includes postdoctoral researcher Geraint Pratten, 5 PhD students,
several master and undergraduate students, and we expect to be joined by
another postdoc in early 2017.

Further faculty members in the UIB gravity include Carles Bona, Jaume
Carot, Joan Massó and Carlos Palenzuela.

Nominal starting date of the position is in the fall of 2017, but an
earlier starting date is possible. Initial appointment will be for 1
year, with renewal for a second year expected, depending on satisfactory
progress. Applicants

brief description of research interests and achievements, as well as
arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to

Review of applications for the two funded positions will begin on
December 1, and applications will be considered until the position is
